The Treasure You Were Never Taught to Find

I remember in my childhood years (okay, not that much time has passed since then) there was this sense in school, from the family, the teachers, the parents of the students, the children themselves, of what we would show as an image to the outside. How our external behavior and appearance would be, so that we would be accepted by society as well-raised children and not as neglected ones.

Okay, this on its own does not sound problematic, however the way and the artificiality were. The mentality was: pretend a subjectively perfect image, so that we receive the “flowers,” the approval from society.

And when this foundation is placed in children, what will happen from learning into adult life? We will seek validation and solutions based on external criteria. Our own criteria - what own criteria? We never discovered them.

But I will use the clichΓ©: it is never too late.

Because as we try to discover our inner world, we awaken, we see, we feel the need to connect with people who understand our inner world. We want people with whom we can express what we see inside us, so that it is not limited by “be something good for society,” “speak in a certain way to be liked,” “appear serious.”

Inside, you awaken. You stop daydreaming about goals and images of others.

Do you remember movies where people were searching for valuable treasures? Yes, you remember well. No treasure was in plain sight. You had to go through darkness, spiders, poisonous snakes, and somewhere in a clearing or a cave, the treasure was shining.

And until we reach our own inner treasure, well, there are probably many trials we have to go through. These are the obstacles that others placed so that we would not reach our treasure…

The question is: how much do you really need this “treasure”?

P.S. How much of an “Indiana Jones” do you feel when it comes to your inner treasure?
