A Day We Didn’t Plan

Has it ever happened to you to take a spontaneous trip, and somehow it turns out even more beautiful than a planned one?

That’s exactly what happened to us. We started early in the morning from our city, Serres, heading to Thessaloniki just about an hour away by car. It’s the second largest city in Greece, with a beautiful, long area by the sea.

After quite some time (and without our little “tiger”) we enjoyed walking through the city center and having coffee in a small, picturesque street filled with color, little shops, and the smell of pastries and all kinds of food.

There’s something special about these moments, when a couple comes closer again, even for a little while, stepping out of the role of being parents.

You see people, you start small conversations…

These are moments every couple with a child needs, and I feel grateful for a day like this.

What did we eat and drink?

Cold chocolate, coffee, croissants, small biscuits, bread with olives and cheese, fresh orange juice…

If you feel a little jealous, you’re always welcome to visit our country and try all these flavors yourself.

Have you ever had a day like this?

A small street in Thessaloniki leading towards the sea, with light, buildings, and a view of the waterfront.

  1. If you got this twice! I apologize! Technical difficulties. Greece seems beautiful and the food, I imagine, must taste delicious! I hope one day to visit with my family!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment Melinda! It really means a lot to us.
Greece has beautiful places in every season, but honestly, every country has its own kind of beauty.

As for the food… there are so many options, and quite affordable too. I’m sure you won’t stay hungry 😄

Is there a specific place here you’d like to visit one day? Where are you from? What are some beautiful things about your country?
