books. what are you really?
We always say that we should read more books, that they are good for us, and that people who manage to read many books deserve admiration. But books themselves are not living beings. And as far as we know, they were not written by divine or higher beings, so it is not automatically guaranteed that reading them will enrich us.
Then you realize that books are simply written by people. We read the ideas, reflections, thoughts, imagination, and entire worlds created by other human beings… and somehow, that helps us grow.
Through books, we have found a way to communicate and connect with one another across time and space. Another reminder that when people come together and share parts of themselves, there is always something meaningful to gain.
Just a few thoughts before bed… Have you ever thought about what it is that you truly love about books?
If you read all the way to the end, thank you. We would genuinely love to hear your thoughts, memories, or feelings in the comments. And if you ever feel like writing to us more personally, you can always send us a letter at:

ReplyDeleteI am not a big on reading books. However, I prefer to read self-help books. Books, in general, are a great way to gain insight and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking the time to interact with our post! Honestly, there is nothing wrong with not being a big fan of reading books. On the contrary, it might help you to have an objective opinion about them. Isn’t it magical how a few lines on paper, combined with the thoughts behind the author, can trigger qualities like insight and inspiration?
DeleteBy the way, is there a specific self-help book that has inspired you the most? We would love to hear your recommendation!
DeleteI used to believe that if I started a book, it was mandatory to finish it. I have now realised that I will never read every book ever written and it is OK to put a book aside if I am not enjoying it. Still feel a bit guilty about it. The author has invested many, many hours and themself into writing it.
ReplyDeleteGood evening Anne, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your comment. What you’re saying is truly beautiful, and I believe every author appreciates your dedication and desire to continue reading a book until the very end.
DeleteAt the same time, even if you feel a little guilty for not finishing every book, I believe that every chapter still has something meaningful to offer. And perhaps even the choice to move on to another book, until you find the one that truly speaks to you, is part of what makes the journey of reading so meaningful.
It is generally thought that reading books is an admirable quality, but not all books are good reading!
DeleteThank you so much for your comment!! Have you got a favourite one? A book that stayed with you until today?
