Things I Heard Today #01

 

Inside the taxi, on the way back home, the driver called a pizza place.

“I’d like a Margherita pizza.”

“Where would you like us to deliver it?” a voice asked from the other side.

“I’ll come pick it up.”

Such a simple exchange during an ordinary working day, and yet it somehow carried the quiet weight of exhaustion, effort, and the small human need to keep going a little longer.
