A Morning That Felt Like a Holiday

A hat and sunglasses resting by a sunny window, inspired by a playful family dance morning.

The day began differently today. Music has a way of changing everything, and this was one of those mornings.

Maria and our little one were dancing around the house to reggae music. For a moment, it felt as though we were sitting on a beach somewhere, sipping cold tea and watching the sea. A cool breeze was drifting through the window, making the illusion even more convincing. It truly felt like a holiday morning.

Bob Marley during a relaxed moment, representing reggae music, sunshine, and positive energy.
There is something wonderful about watching a toddler dance. They don't follow anyone else's rhythm. They invent their own. I sat by the sunlit window with my coffee and my morning cigarette before eventually joining the dance myself. At some point I was instructed to wear sunglasses and a hat, our little one insists that dancing requires the proper outfit.

A morning coffee by a sunlit window after two rainy days, capturing a peaceful and reflective moment.
He must have exhausted himself, because he fell asleep around 10:30 in the morning, something he rarely does. And so I'll leave you with the song that filled our home today and with one of my favourite lines:

"Sun is shining, the weather is sweet, make you want to move your dancing feet..."

— Bob Marley

  1. Thank you for visiting my blog recently. I appreciate your comment. My son, who is a musician, recently wrote a new song and that's the song that has been filling my house lately. And to respond to your comment on my blog, when you have a child of your own, it definitely opens your eyes to the way you've been loved by your own parents or how your parents can love your child so much. It's a beautiful cycle, when done right :) When I became a parent, it helped me understand God's love for me, as well. I'm looking forward to visiting your blog and reading more of your story. Take care and have a wonderful week!

    1. We are so glad we found your blog, Debbie. Thank you for visiting our little corner, we would be absolutely delighted to host you here whenever you wish to stop by. We personally witnessed a love toward our child that truly mirrors the love of God, unconditional. And your little note, "when done right," speaks volumes about the constant need for adaptation, and trying to see which things work for your child and which don't. We would love to hear your son's song, if possible, and to interact with you again. Happy new month, wishing you good health, and God bless you and your family!
